Modern Backyard | Round Rock

Built for evenings outside.

This Round Rock backyard started with plenty of space and not much reason to use it. The new plan created a defined dining area, a place to gather around the fire, softer planting around the edges, and lighting that keeps the space usable after sunset.

The same backyard after the project, with limestone patio, pergola, planting and evening lighting
Fictional project concept
Scope

Property
Suburban lot, level yard, full afternoon sun
Focus
Dining, gathering, softer edges, evening use
Why it works

Good landscaping should still make sense five years from now.

We consider how the space will be used, how much maintenance you want, how plants will mature, and what actually works in Central Texas before construction begins.

Built for the property

Sun, slope, soil, drainage, and existing trees drive the layout. The plan follows the site instead of fighting it.

Built for your life

How many people you host, whether kids or dogs need lawn, and how much weekend upkeep you actually want.

Built for Austin

Native and adapted planting, limestone that belongs here, and water use that survives a Central Texas August.

Process

Four steps, no guesswork.

  1. 01

    Conversation

We talk through how you want to use the yard, what bothers you about it now, and the range you have in mind.

  2. 02

    On-site design discussion

We walk the property, take measurements, and note sun, drainage, access, and existing trees worth keeping.

  3. 03

    Plan and materials

You review a layout with stone, cedar, planting, and lighting selections, plus a clear scope and pricing.

  4. 04

    Build and settle in

Construction runs in a set sequence, then we walk the finished space and cover watering and seasonal care.

Illustrative homeowner perspectives

How a project like this tends to feel.

Field & Stone is a fictional studio created for a portfolio demo. The quotes below are written examples, not verified reviews or real customers.

We had a big empty lawn and no reason to go outside. The plan gave us a place to eat, a place to sit by the fire, and planting that looks intentional.
Homeowner perspective, Round Rock
Illustrative example
The lighting was the part we did not expect to love. The yard is genuinely more usable in the evening than it was during the day before.
Homeowner perspective, Cedar Park
Illustrative example
They talked us out of two things we would have regretted and into a smaller lawn. Less upkeep, better looking, easier summer.
